April 17, 2007
Business Burglary
Between the hours of 10:00 PM, April 11 and 7:30 AM on April 12,
2007, person(s) unknown unlawfully entered the Hellyer Brothers
Video Store at 310 Water Street in Colstrip, through a window.
Once inside they took cash money, X-Box 360 and Play Station 3
game units and assorted games for the units and over ninety (90)
DVD videos. The estimated loss to the business is several thousand
dollars. The Colstrip Police needs the assistance of the community
in solving this burglary. If you have any information concerning

July 11, 2006
Burglary
Sometime during a two week period between June 23 and July 5, 2006,
while the victim resident was on vacation, unknown person(s) forcibly
entered an apartment in the 6700 block of Hollister Drive in Colstrip.
It appears a pry tool was used to force open the door and once inside
the suspects (s) took a case of .223 caliber ammunition, a .380
caliber Glendel semi-auto pistol, a .45 caliber Hi-Point semi auto
pistol, a .308 caliber HK-93 rifle, currency and electronic equipment.
The suspect (s) also attempted forced entry into three unattached
garages. We need the assistance of the community in solving this
burglary. Report suspicious activity and consider involvement in
a Neighborhood Watch program.

Graffiti
During the weekend of Colstrip Days unknown person(s) spray painted
graffiti on the pedestrian/bike tunnels under Power Road and Hwy
#39. The graffiti has possible gang related connotation and included
five pointed stars and crowns. The community is asked to be alert
for such activity and report suspicious activity. We need the assistance
of the community in solving these vandalism cases. Report suspicious
activity and consider involvement in a Neighborhood Watch program.

June 21, 2006
Vandalisms
During the afternoon of Wednesday, June 15, 2006, the windshields
of four vehicles parked on Cornflower Court off Olive Drive were
damaged by unknown person (s) shooting BB guns. Damage is estimated
in the hundreds of dollars. The incident occurred between 2:30
PM and 5:30 PM and the windshields all show numerous BB holes
and indications are the suspect(s) was probably walking up the
street shooting at the cars. The Colstrip Police have received
numerous complaints over the last few months concerning BB and
pellet guns used in assaults and vandalisms. We need the assistance
of the community in solving these vandalism cases. Report suspicious
activity and consider involvement in a Neighborhood Watch program.

April 27, 2006
Strong Armed Robbery
During the evening of Wednesday, April 26th an 18 year old male
was washing his vehicle at the One Stop Lube and Car Wash at Dogwood
and Box Elder St in Colstrip when he observed two male Indians sniffing
gas from a gas can owned by the Victim and which had been left outside
the car wash bay. The Victim confronted the two and when they tried
to take the gas can and flee an exchange of blows occurred. The
Victim sustained minor injuries and the suspects fled in a mid 80’s
dark blue Honda Civic. They are described as (1) a Male Indian 25-30
yeasr old with a braided ponytail down to his waist. He was wearing
a black t-shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes, (2) Male Indian 25-30
years old with black hair, larger in size than the first suspect,
wearing a brown carhart coat, jeans, boots and a blue baseball cap.

August 17, 2005
During the evening hours of Saturday,
August 6th, or early morning hours of Sunday, August 7th, person(s)
unknown removed the vinyl "Got Socks" Clothing Store
sign displayed on the fence along Montana Highway #39 and Olive
Street to the West of the IBLC building where the store is located.
The sign is described as 3 ft by 12 ft in size. The theft is an
affront to all Colstrip residents who supported a new business
in the community. It is believed that a perpetrator probably took
the sign as a trophy. Someone knows something about this crime
and may have talked with or seen an individual displaying this
property in a room in their home.
Residents need to be alert for suspicious activity and are asked
to call the police, if such activity is observed in their neighborhood.

August 3, 2005
During the late evening of Friday,
July 29th, or early morning hours of Saturday, July 30th, person(s)
unknown entered vehicles parked at the Cactus apartments and on
the 200 block of Cherry street in south Colstrip and removed property.
Items stolen from the vehicles included money, an XM satellite radio,
a camera, and a Pioneer brand CD changer controller. Prowlers and
thefts from vehicles are issues of concern and residents need to
be alert for suspicious activity and are asked to call the police,
if such activity is observed in their neighborhood. If you have
any information on these thefts, or any other serious crime, the
Colstrip Police Department would like to hear from you. Please call
